Learning to take good photos on my iPhone
My camera roll is full of photos of my dog and random things I want to share with my husband while he is at work.
When asked to take a photo on an iPhone I used to tell people that even though I am a photographer by trade, I couldn’t take a decent photo with my iPhone.
Because my passion is my job, it feels incredibly freeing to not have my “tools” on me. As a result, I often end up experiencing beautiful sunsets, delicious lunches, and golden road trips without my Nikon in hand. At the same time, I find myself wanting to take photos... and they say the best camera is the one you have with you.
With a bit of thought and technical know-how it is of course very easy to create great photos with a phone and so on a recent trip to Tasmania I thought I would test myself when I found myself compelled to take snaps around my accommodation @thebowmont. I shot on both my Nikon z7ii and my iPhone, taking the same shots on each to see how they compared.
These photos are all taken on my iPhone and edited with a preset I have made for myself in the Lightroom mobile app and I even surprised myself.
If you are interested in learning how to capture beautiful photos with your phone and edit them, then I would love for you to join me at one of my upcoming Smartphone workshops in May.
