Four photography business tools I can’t live without
01.
Studio Ninja
A client management software designed for photographers! It handles new leads, quotes, invoicing, contracts, and automated workflows.
You can also integrate it with a bunch of other services you might already be using. I connect mine with my Google Calendar and Quickbooks to streamline my schedule and accounts.
I have been using Studio Ninja for a few years now and I can’t believe I didn’t use something like this sooner.

02.
Pic-time
I have been using Pic-time since the beginning of 2023. It makes delivering galleries not only easy but a really lovely experience for my clients.
A great feature that I really like is that it syncs with my Lightroom catalogue and I can sell additional license to images easily through this system.

03.
Gsuite
I have been a Gmail girlie for a long time and over the years I have become a full convert on many of the other offerings they have.
The tools I use within Gsuite on a regular basis include email, calendars, docs, sheets and (controversially) my favourite is Google Drive which I prefer over Dropbox.
I find Google Drive a lot cheaper than dropbox and I use it to backup all my edited jpeg files.
They even have Google Meet which I use for video calls for mentoring sessions.
04.
Carbon Copy Cloner
A software to automatically backup your main hard drive to other hard drives… honestly this is a no brainer for photographers.
I have three hard drives sitting on my desk. One is my portable hard drive that comes with me everywhere, and is where I work off when importing, editing and exporting files. I use it interchangeably between my desktop mac mini and macbook pro. I would ideally like to upgrad to an SSD but since I already have this one, I will stick with it for now.
The other two sit on my desk most of the time, and are duplicated on my main hard drive. I automate backups to these each day with Carbon Copy Cloner and it has made backing up a much less daunting task.
When I go away I usually put them in my fireproof safe. I should be a bit more rigourous with keeping one in the fireproof safe at all times and just back it up every week.
